The FRP++ Integration Week 2023 (IW2023) unfolded at the University of Minho, Portugal, from November 20th to 24th, 2024. This event provided to the students a unique opportunity to come together physically and engage in a variety of enriching activities.
The week-long event featured an array of activities aimed at fostering learning, collaboration, and personal development. Highlights included insightful keynote lectures by distinguished speakers, such as Prof. Albertino Arteiro from University of Porto and Eng. Filipe Dourado, an industry expert, from S&P Clever Reinforcement Ibérica.
Students had the chance to delve into hands-on experiences through technical visits and explorations of cutting-edge laboratories within the University of Minho’s Department of Civil Engineering. These visits/experiences offered a behind-the-scenes look at the latest advancements in composite materials research and NDT testing.
In addition to academic pursuits, the Integration Week placed a strong emphasis on developing essential soft skills. Workshops and seminars covered various aspects, ranging from effective presentation techniques to practical sessions on resume building and career preparation.
Balancing academia with social interaction, students explored the charming city of Guimarães, known for its UNESCO World Heritage sites and vibrant cultural atmosphere. An evening was dedicated to a delightful dinner, fostering camaraderie among students and faculty.
The FRP++ Integration Week 2023 successfully created a dynamic and engaging environment, encouraging knowledge exchange, skill development, and building lasting connections among the students and faculty.
